My sister Laura is an inspiration to me. She is the owner of tea cozy baked goods and a recent wedding cake creation of hers is featured in the images in this post. (Shameless promotion – book us both for your wedding or event and we can talk about some additional value-added propositions). What makes her so special is the obvious passion that she has for what she does. Passion drove her to painstakingly create every flower on this cake by hand, passion pushes her to pay attention to every tiny detail and passion compels her to keep studying, experimenting and getting better. Who wouldn’t be inspired!!
Passion is a funny thing – we can’t measure it or quantify it, but we know it when we see it. It’s that thing that keeps us practicing to the point of exhaustion as we work to perfect our craft. It’s that thing that burns inside us to be the best we can possibly be. It’s that thing that causes us to leave the safety and security of a regular paycheck to pursue a path that some might see as reckless; foolish even. But when the passion burns bright enough it is ignored at your peril. Passion turns a job into a vocation, a calling. Passion sustains you when things inevitably don’t go as planned and keeps you searching for a solution. And passion keeps you from resting on your laurels when eventually things work.
My sister is passionate about baking. I’m passionate about using images to tell your story. What are you passionate about?
Cheers,
Tris
